Focusing on the construction, modernization and strategic development of hydropower plants across Central Asia and the Caspian region, the “Hydropower Central Asia and Caspian” Congress will mark its 10th edition on April 1–2, 2026 in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. The event will bring together public and private sector representatives to address both the technical and financial aspects of energy investments in the region.

The congress is expected to welcome more than 200 energy market leaders from countries including Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia and Russia. With participation from over 15 countries, the platform will examine more than 60 investment projects at various stages, from planning to operational phases, across the region.

As part of the event, more than 30 expert presentations will address the latest technological transformations and operational challenges in the hydropower sector under the following key themes:

  • Next-Generation Hydropower Plants: Advanced technologies used in construction and modernization processes.
  • Design in Seismic Zones: Case studies on building safe and efficient plants in earthquake-prone regions.
  • Modernization and Rehabilitation: Roundtable sessions focused on improving the efficiency of existing plants.
  • Small-Scale Hydropower: Workshops on the construction and operation of small-scale energy engineering projects.
  • Hydropower Safety: Next-generation safety solutions and key challenges facing the sector.

During the opening session, a strategic dialogue among industry leaders will focus on the region’s energy outlook for the next decade. Under the theme “Energy of Profitability,” discussions will explore financing trends, successful investment cases, and the role of international financial institutions in the region.

Marking its 10th anniversary, the congress will host an award ceremony for the first time, recognizing projects and organizations that have set industry standards over the past decade. In addition, a dedicated exhibition area featuring leading technology providers will showcase the latest turbine technologies, software solutions and equipment to industry professionals.

The two-day event will offer more than 15 hours of professional networking opportunities. Participants will be able to build new partnerships and exchange insights through one-to-one meetings, business dinners, and technical sessions.
