Recognised as the largest and most influential toy trade fair in the Western Hemisphere, Toy Fair is preparing to open its doors at the Javits Center in New York City from 14 to 17 February 2026.

Hosting major retailers that represent more than 80 percent of the USD 42 billion U.S. toy market, along with global media organisations, the fair is set to shape gaming and play trends for 2026 and beyond.

Organised by The Toy Association, Toy Fair 2026 has already reached an impressive level of participation. The event has received registrations from 21 of the 25 largest toy retailers in the United States, with more than 1,500 retail organisations attending from all 50 U.S. states and 55 different countries. With participants and visitors expected from a total of 80 countries, the fair continues to serve as a global hub for toy and game innovation.

The event’s international impact is further reinforced by strong media participation. Hundreds of journalists, including representatives from global media outlets such as The New York Times, CNN, Forbes, NBC News and BuzzFeed, will be on site to follow the year’s most talked-about toys and emerging trends firsthand.

Next-Generation Visual Merchandising and “Reimagination” Awards

Toy Fair 2026 has introduced an innovative “Visual Merchandising Initiative” this year to enhance buyer engagement. Under this framework, exhibitors are required to make their products directly visible in at least 20 percent of the areas facing the aisles. In addition, the “Reimagination Awards”, to be held for the third time this year, will recognise the most aesthetic and inviting stand designs, further raising visual standards across the exhibition floor.

Industry Insights and Trend Analysis: Toy Fair University

Held concurrently throughout the four-day fair, the Toy Fair University sessions will add strategic depth to the event. Nearly 100 experts are expected to take part in seminars covering a wide range of topics, from product licensing and marketing strategies to sustainable packaging solutions and consumer research. In addition, The Toy Association’s highly anticipated “Toy Trends Briefing” session will present new insights into the future of play and gaming habits.

Strategic Partnerships and TOTY Awards

The fair serves not only as a product showcase but also as a networking platform where strategic partnerships are established. The prestigious “TOTY (Toy of the Year) Awards” and dedicated activation areas offer significant opportunities for brands to enhance their global visibility. In this environment, where manufacturers, distributors and decision-makers come together face to face, the first agreements for 2026’s best-selling products are expected to be made.
